out of curiosity, what is your homemade/alternate tracklist sowing?
i think the original one is fine enough but the doomed -> so long and thanks for all the fish is definitely jarring.

When it transitions from Eat the Elephant into Disillusioned, humphhhh... so good.

Yeah I love the transitions from song to song, album flows really well.

Glad to hear that Flashmobba. Brena doesn't even have his high end 4th octave notes that you would hear on more high profile songs suchs as 3 Libras or The Outsider, but the way he lingers on some words/vowels and the vulnerability in his voice is just outstanding

Album is too nice sounding. needs to be bit more rough around the edges

It's just right imo. Not every album has to be rough around the edges, and this is one of those who don't intend to be. It's a soothing and atmospheric record, and that's what I like about it. Of course it doesn't have a Pet, but honestly, if it would have one, it wouldn't fit its mood at all.

Ending of „Hourglass” is my favourite moment on this record

In the process of listening now. Feels a lot more cinematic/dramatic than all their other releases. So far, so good. I'll just pretend this album doesn't have any cover art.

Ratings are on-point but you're underrating The Contrarian and By And Down. The only song I'm still puzzled by is Get The Lead Out, I just don't get what they're going for there.

I don't either for what it's worth, but I still love it. It's just creepy and off-kilter enough, even if it's sort of directionless.

This album is the definition of well executed experimentation

Glad to see others digging. This is actually shaping up to be one of my early favorites of 2018 (Republic of Wolves' shrine is #1, Kacey Musgraves is up there, all followed by a slew of impressive 4.0-4.2's that are great but not AOTY-worthy). This actually is in the conversation, for me at least...still have more than half the year to go, however.

TalkTalk is easily the best song for me because it encapsulates APCs sound very well. Also the love the tremolo (?) in the song, reminded me of a lot of moments on Mer De Noms

Mostly enjoyable, but this doesn't dent their older stuff. Some moments are a little too left field when I wanted to hear good ol' apc crunch. I wouldn't say it's a complete departure from their older sound, but I couldn't get into it as much as others did. I felt blindsided when I heard 'So long, and thanks for the fish' lol more experimentation, less quality, and at times more boring than I'm used to by these guys.
TalkTalk & The Doomed are my favorite, cold cuts.

Oh my god, how could I forget the vocal performance on Brena. That track was stellar. What the fuck happened to Maynard here?
