Dear Agony smashes the emotional aspect out of the park, whereas this l felt nothing

Exactly. How many times is this band going to recycle old melodies for future material? If the next album is any worse I'm done with this band.

He's managed to keep these guys for the last two albums.

True. It's unfortunate, he got some mad talent on the bill.

Nah, he's only had one line up change and that was after a dispute with Ben and the old guitarist bassist over the best of they made. These last two albums basically prove how important aaron and mark were when it came to songwriting

Yeah, here they just recycle old shit and pretend it's new.

Yeah if it's Ben doing all the songwriting, he's proved he's not the best and needs the help

Also you can't promise something big like "heaviest record yet" and just sacrifice good hooks.

Thing is, Ben is a bit of a douche and I recall mark posting something during dbd saying Ben boasted he did all the songwriting, when the reality of the matter is mark and Aaron played an important role in all the band's hit songs like so cold

It's what you're up against. I can't see the next album being anything other than a continuation of this sound

This does have a few monster hooks though, come on. Red Cold River and Torn in Two are hnnng on that front

Blood, dark of you are legit great tracks, the rest are just dull. Tourniquets has a catchy chorus I giess

Hooks on this are great. Feed the Wolf has a great hook but the guitar is a bit redundant

It’s funny because I almost included Feed the Wolf for good hooks but then I realized it was the guitar work I liked on that track and not the hook lol

And fuck dark of you

The Dark of You is one of the few that actually breaks the formula enough, if you want a shit hook try Save Yourself god damn, I almost hate that very sequence of notes when Ben is on the mic, on lines like "I keep this prayer alive," basically Ben needs to get away from that sequence of notes lmao

Yeah but it breaks it in the worst way possible and just comes off as one big cringe to me
