Yeah I find myself listening to this more than their earlier stuff despite initially being upset is was less guitar driven.

Heaven & Earth constantly in the rotation too that EP goes

For whatever reason Heaven & Earth is the only album from them that never really clicked with me. Really enjoying Blood & Chemistry and Left Fire though, in this order.
Still, I think it's safe to call this their best

Still coming back to this, still enjoying it more than everything else they put out.
Never would have guessed that at the time of release.

At least they ended on a high note. The peaks on this album are insane! If this was a little less soundscape-heavy, it'd be perfect. Matter, Indigo and Arp are incredible. They're so huge!
RIP hard indeed.

Agreed
A similar fate happened to Black Peaks, they are as good imo, though a bit darker and more post genre influenced. So anyone yet unfamiliar go check them out

Did check out Black Peaks briefly and they sounded cool! Will definitely give them another go.
Groves sounds fantastic on this, I feel like the vocals get a bit overkill on Blood & Chemistry but he found a sweet-spot on here.

I always loved him vocally even though he was originally the guitarist and sort of fell into the vocalist slot when the actual vocalist left. Some people find him too whiny but I never was one of those people.

He has some amazing vocal talent, but his high pitch is sometimes a bit harsh on the ears.
Will from Black Peaks has a deeper voice (though not quite a Baritone ofc) and has amazing range, both in terms of notes and of style. He doesn't really sound like anyone else most of the time, which is a rare thing imo

I think Groves is very unique too, can clock him instantly in any song.

Had to bump this to a 4.5, just gets better and better with each listen. Never heard an album so gentle yet so absolutely monumental at the same time. Would loved to have seen where they could have gone from here. Years on and I'm still gutted they split.

Can't help but crank up the volume when Matter drops into that chorus. It's so powerful!

I hate it, every time i find a great UK rock band with monumental potential they split or have already split long ago. Oceansize, Black Peaks, Arcane Roots, Cyril Snear
