it's amazing what some simple tweaking of the mix does for this album. Conflicted if I should give points to the album itself or just the guy who re-did it.

in reference to the above comment, i remastered this album and fixed a lot of the issues by getting my hands on the isolated tracks. if you want a link to it, let me know. i unbrickwalled it (it's dr10), fixed the vocals being too high in the mix, fixed the issue with the guitars and the synth constantly fighting for prominence and increased the bass in the mix.

here's a side by side comparison of the waveforms, my remaster above, the 24bit flac below: https://i.imgur.com/kbbx4pS.png

before you ask why i wasted my time remastering an album i gave a 2, part of it was boredom and i wanted to make a point that a lot of the frustrating things about the production of this album as far as i was concerned (your mileage may vary depending on what you like or dislike about this album's mixing) was easily avoidable and fixable and jari simply should have had someone else mix and master it. it would probably sound much better if a professional remastered it, but hey, i gave it a shot. Songs like this srsly are the peak of human creation. This is simply too good. I feel like my existence is dissolving while listening to this. Everything becomes worthless and at the same time you get a whole new insight to your life, your goals, your dreams. Everything becomes clear. And at the same time you ask yourself, how can you not look down at humanity in disgust? How can completely soulless "music" be liked by the vast majority of the population while they turn down something like this? And we all know for a fact that some random pathetic human cant get the same level of ecstasis - one can derive from a masterpiece like this - while listening to justin bieber or "random popular guy feat. his left egg". This is definately not a matter of taste. Are most people just THAT stupid and they are simply not capable of understanding this awesomeness? Btw i am not putting down another musical genre like "pop" in general, but one cant deny how fucking degenerated most of the songs that are considerd popular are. For me personally, this is unfairness at its purest. Pure genius will never get what it deserves. Just sad...

This album is proof that the trend of maximalism (Septicflesh, Fleshgod, Nightwish, Epica, etc) isn't always good. The Forest Seasons takes the idea of maximalism to a whole new level and applies it to fucking everything.

To be fair, I loved Time I. I even think the overproduction was GREAT, ironically.

But here, it's just baaad.

-Songs are WAY too long

-The mixing sucks so much. Like holy shit.

-The riffs would be good if I could hear them

-"Fall" is just another Tim Burton Black Metal mess.

-The lyricism has improved but their English still sucks and it's not mature.

-The acoustic version of Winter is nice, although I hate Jari's vocals in the beginning of the song.

As a fanboy of this band, it's hard to hate them, but I sincerely feel that my money ($60) has been utterly wasted. I really hope Time II redeems this band to at least Time I standards.

Well frozencarl copied a comment from a Time video on YouTube

It's impressive though how much one can write without actually saying anything

Anyone else think that some of these songs were written to be the background music for the water temple in Ocarina of Time?
