I think he just wanted to come out

Except it's not at all. Garden Shed is pretty blatant about it, you don't even have to read that hard into the lyrics. And Tyler was never going to be the guy to make a huge deal out of him coming out and no doubt he knew he'd be met with skepticism from it because of all the homophobic shit he used to say. Not to mention that line in November where he says he's worried his day one fans will turn on him because of track 7 (Garden Shed).

I adore the album cover
Gonna have to check this

After 1 listen its pretty solid stuff. Feels like grower, lyrically especially as a lot of it flew over my head

I don't really care if he's truly coming out or if it is some sort of performance/marketing moment.. though I doubt it, he must understand what kind of sociopolitical fallout that would cause.. it'd ruin his career.. album's great..

'how much of a coming out album is this really though. like truthfully. '
now that i think about it, that's actually a very good point.
Everyone's making a fuzz about it, but c'mon... Is this as gay as everyone thinks? or even wants it to be?
except for a few bars, it don't sound like that at all to me.

ps: I do not care if it's gay or not, or how much gay it actually is.
Music's solid. It's all the fuzz that it got caught up in that brings forth this discussion, really

I don't really care either, but I feel like all the media buzz was because of the fact that Tyler used to say so much shit that could be interpreted as homophobic. Basically, this album is as gay as we'll probably ever get from Tyler

Fuck. This album is his best work yet, here's to more quality music in the future from our boi Tyler.

I really don't get why people are obsessed with the sexuality thing when there's plenty to talk about just regarding the music

I'm annoyed the media is cashing in on Tyler "finally coming out". Like the dude has been saying he's gay for years but just because he says 'faggot' he can't 100% be gay? Fuck off.

yeah lol, just a few weeks before Who Dat Boy even dropped, Tyler quoted a tweet that asked who gave him permission to say faggot and said "My boyfriend did". He's said stuff like that a bunch of times but people always assume he's trolling.

but yeah album's great lol. but kinda hard to not talk about it when it is a theme that is brought up in multiple songs. regardless, this is pretty much what I always hoped Tyler would make and knew he was capable of

I was a naysayer up until this point, but this album surprised me.

Also ppl. just need to stop making a gigantic deal about him being gay or bi or whatever. Just let him write about his sexuality as much as he wants or doesn't want.

me too, honestly. i'd always tried to get into Tyler bc I love Frank, Earl and Syd but I always thought his beats were shite and his fake edginess was annoying

"this is pretty much what I always hoped Tyler would make and knew he was capable of"
Yes, Tyler has always been a talented guy, he just needed to be more on his own terms and mature musically, this is my favourite project to come from any OF-affiliated member so far
|
| |
all I have to say is if you judge this album cuz you think tyler is gay OR if you judge this album cuz you think tyler is not gay, ur a dumbass. the music speaks for itself
and also Tyler 100% wanted the controversy (the next line will have em like woah)
