I actually identify with this review a ton, because I remember how much Against Me!'s Transgender Dysphoria affected me when I was coming out. It was the album that influenced me to come out as bisexual to my mom back in 2014, actually (she was incredibly accepting, for the record). So I can definitely understand the power an album like this has, especially when coming to terms with identity and orientation

The album will probably be back up on streaming soon, Polyvinyl was negotiating the contract release with them last i read.

Not that it's going to make AOTY anymore.

i mean, it's not exactly a question of whether or not people can 'handle' the band. if they want to come back they need an audience, and their audience was comprised almost entirely of people who are not the least bit interested in supporting a band comprised of groomers

The controversy surrounding these guys doesn't dilute what is a fucking awesome album, for me anyway.

It's like Burzum, separate the man from the music.

I found his youtube channel the other day and it made me feel dead inside by the second video.

i can't subscribe to that mindset with these guys. ben's actions and liv's complicity undermine literally everything PWR BTTM stood for so it's difficult to listen to this album in the same way.

still haven't heard this. ugly cherries was so important to me and it stings not to get a fair chance with this one, both because of their alleged behavior and because of their label's gross eradication of all proof of their existence. ugh
