so making the plunge into osdm and the tampa scene finally after seeing obituary live. this seems like a good place to start.
just kicked my ass man. what an incredible album. this is how i like my death metal. raw, pretty thrashy, grimy and just nasty. can't believe chuck was 20 when he made this. THE RIFFS! so many tempo changes, love the slower groovier ones. and the vocals are just insane. this was made in 1987! still thrashy af but also so far ahead of it's time. the higher screams sound remarkably modern and are so good. just has such a cool edge to it.
what a start! honestly will be hard to top this. this is kind of my preferred style but hey the discog is insanely highly rated so it probably will lol. close to a 5 here tbh. never been more excited to dive in further. also best art of all time maybe. def gotta snag a shirt or something. pure m/

Leprosy is a step up from this while sounding pretty similar overall. Like a more advanced refined scream bloody gore that album is really going to kick your teeth in if this one did it for you
