I feel like Hostage Stamps would've made a good opener rather than closer

Hostage Stamps doesn't feel like a closer. And I haven't even heard the whole album yet.

Solid comeback. Cedric is in shape, Pendulum in a Peasant Dress is all I wanted for this album.
"Opens pretty weakly and gets better as it goes. Tracks 4, 5, 6 should have been 1, 2, 3"
Agree with Dwap here, the first 3 tracks will put off a lot of people.

I don't think I'd choose another song over Hostage Stamps to close this thing

This is better than I thought it would be so far. Actually I don't know what I expected, but I'm digging it

Cedric's voice on this is pretty bad tbh, while the music is also pretty bland. But with all that said, I was expecting this to be a trainwreck and it wasn't too bad.

p4k sneak-plagiarizing ya' boi

It isn't bad, it isn't good. Overall a pretty inoffensive album. Considering the strength of their previous albums though, it is a little upsetting this didn't turn out better

Fairly standard for a band like this. The point is, they should have never come back.
Better than that god-awful Refused album though, so I'll give them credit for that at least.

When this gets its energy levels up properly it really sounds fantastic, just doesn't really do it very often

This is a good comeback album, up there with the new Thrice. I thoroughly enjoy this, as a Mars Volta fan primarily over ATDI. They did well, guys.

It's good. I agree, the Mars Volta is better but this is fine.

Not really...
RoC > Deloused > ICO > Frances > Bedlam > Acrobatic >>> Octahedron > Amputechture
Not heard the last TMV record (or this, yet). I lost interest after hearing Octahedron.

Noctourniquet was actually really solid. Definitely a different vibe but it's great. I need to give Relationship of Command a more thorough listen.

What's wrong with amputechture, that's the most abstract thing they did ever.

Why is it being abstract a good thing? I think they disappeared too far up themselves on that one, Viscera Eyes is really good though. It was like FTM without the fun & bombastic crescendos.

Little bit perplexed by the hate for this, love it
