I think Colony and Clayman are overhyped (still great though) and their post-2000) stuff is all underrated

I agree Clayman is overhyped to an extent, but def not Colony. that's my second favorite.

post-2000 stuff is mostly pretty underrated though agreed, especially the stretch from Reroute to (especially) Clarity.

Colony is great but I just always want to put on Whoracle instead. Their first four releases are the best for me

nah, I'm the same way for the most part. I low-key enjoy this for its catchiness and dig a few songs off of Siren Charms as well. [2]

Atoma destroys this album into oblivion to be honest, and Dark Tranquility is even in the same age range.

DT are also quite possibly the safest band in existence and can be kinda boring to me as a result. DT may be more consistent throughout their discography but in flames best stomps DT's best

Best IF was safe IF though; the first four after Lunar Strain were all very similar and all very legendary

"Sure they’ve had a few great records such as Reroute to Remain"

...Reroute is the album that everyone was shitting on back when they released it. That was their shitty transition album. Now it's good? Nobody told me.

Clayman doesn't sound like Jester Race or Whoracle though

I'd say it is considerably more similar than anything post-Clayman is to JR and Whoracle. I also find JR, Whoracle and Colony to be considerably better than Clayman (keeping in mind Clayman is still fantastic and considerably better than anything after it)

No way Clayman is nothing like their first 3, it is far more similiar to Reroute to remain

Jester Race and Whoracle both sound unique from the other 3 in my opinion, Clayman and Colony have similarities but both rule.

Production doesn't even bother me that much, the songs are just lifeless

I am tempted to give this a listen, I need some bad ratings to keep my objectivity high, too many recent 4s

But this album being so bad that people are starting to retroactively appreciate ASOP, which in its time was the butt of all jokes? Holy moly
