they still kick ass live tho. their new songs are mostly written to be good live so its actually pretty enjoyable. the studio versions are obviously liveless

yea they're not bad performers, their new songs just suck. and what made it worse was the crowd had no idea what was going on when they played their old stuff, but went banoodles when they played "the truth." kill me

get over the cringe and enjoy yourself tbh. live concerts are a privilege to behold if you think about it. should be a time of joy

They may put on a decent show, but Anders is so awful live. I bet he's even worse nowadays
Lol Frozencarl, I remember the exact thing happening the last time I saw them. I couldn't see a single human headbang while they were playing Artifacts of the Black Rain, but as soon as Delight and Angers started playing they went wild smh

I saw them five times with mixed results. Overall, I stil caught some rare gems live like Clayman or Swim so that's cool but they are hit or miss live IMO.
I would go to the An evening with tour in hope that they play more gems there but 55€ is way too much. And Anders really can't sing anymore, just listen toThe Chosen Pessimist from their latest Live DVD. It is hilariously bad.

i enjoyed their concerts whenever they weren't playing songs off their last three albums or so. my goal in going to these shows was to finally see oftw live, and now that i have, i probably won't shell out the money just to be disappointed. i know it sounds elitist but its just not worth it for me anymore haha
|
| |
foh elitist prick i suppose you don't even listen to the radio anymore because its too 'normie'

Anders is pretty good live mostly because of his interaction with the audience and the vibe he generates. Most of the songs they play live are newer ones that by themselves are mostly bland and unremarkable but can sound pretty awesome live when done well.
Out of curiosity I would go and see them live if I actually had the time and money for it. Oh well.

I raised my rating from a 2.5 to a 3.0 because there is a long section of straight 3.2 songs, but the second half of the album really falls off, plus there isn't one really epic moment at all on here. It deserves a 2.5 probably, but I admit I had fun for about 20 minutes of this.

This used to be my favorite band. They still are when I imagine the last few albums never existed..Anyway, the album isn't awful, it's just not In Flames. Well, not the In Flames I knew and loved.
Oh also saw them live about 2 years ago, great performance.

A 2.0 for this is still very generous dude.
