'Writer' is probably the worst song but still a 3/3.5

I mean if you had to trim a song it'd definitely be 'Writer' but I still dig it

Agreed Doof, it's ok but definitely an outlier.

I don't think it's the sort of album where a track being at all weird in any way matters xD

After three or so full listens I'm still not quite sure what to think of this album, rating could land anywhere in the 2.5-4 range

"The Hustle" is an incredible tune though, and I do dig the atmosphere on this

Atmosphere is at least half of the appeal; In Care Of, t/t, Relatives, NIV and The Hustle are the song writing peaks. Directions to the Can and JFK are quite free form but perfect in their own way too. The remaining material never drops the ball, keeps that vibe flowing.

After four full listens I've decided for certain that I enjoy this - 3.5 for now, could easily continue to grow.

This feels like a more free-form cross between Mangy Love and 22, A Million - closer to the latter in sound, but to the former in quality.

Am I the only one that absolutely loves the opener?

This is great, this bands album grow like a rich, sweet fulfilling tramadol fungus.

I think Oh (Ohio) is me current fave

They're definitely the sort of band where you can have a shifting current favourite. A lot of people consider 'How I Quit Smoking' their best and I really haven't listened to that one enough to do it justice. Then there's the debut which some people swear by too.

I've got a £1.34 second hand copy of the double album ('Aw C'mon') coming in the post so I'll give that one a second listen soon.

'Oh (Ohio)' seems solid, just a huge feeling of familiarity over it, need to give it some more listens. 'Slipped Dissolved' is an awesome tune but I also have to recognize it's basically 'Paperback Bible' given a new lick of paint.
