Well, with the band her songs sound very powerful and full but seeing her alone I guess is where the true magic is, specially the tracks for Some Heavy Ocean.

Did you prefer Some Heavy Ocean, Tristan, or you just don't click with her stuff at all?

i feel like SHO was better yeah. idk, she seems like if one or two key elements were missing she'd easily be plain jane. if there's something transcendental there that lends to users 5-ing it, i don't see it.

what about her does it for you? dem feelz?

you're asking him, but for me, she exudes incredible charisma in her music, and the intimacy makes it all so much more genuine and awesome. plenty of other singer songwriters who make enjoyable music but don't offer much more of an experience

Yeah without the extra touches this definitely wouldnt be as special but it does have those things, so i dont see your point. Thats kind of like saying a rock record isnt great because the songs wouldnt sound good stripped down on acoustic guitars. Shouldnt you judge the product as it is rather than saying "if it didnt have this element it wouldnt sound as good"? So what? And isnt that an admission that its good as it is? Maybe its more that the extra touches didnt do much for you? I just never understood that argument.

all I meant is that she's not far from being forgettable and has just enough to be worth listening to. idk man it was a knee-jerk comment not a thesis statement
