I really don't understand why there needs to be this need to compare bands that have absolutely nothing to do with one another.
This is an album; it was created by a band. It was not created to oust other bands or other albums. There is no need to say it is shit or that it sucks compared to something else, because it was never created to be compared in that light. It's fucking ridiculous even more so because all of the bands you guys are mentioning are likely all tight in real life and have a massive amount of respect for the art that one another are creating and are putting into the world.

Well I think comparing it to their own albums is fine, or even describing similarities and contrasts to other albums and bands, but the anger and spite towards other bands I find to be excessive and unnecessary.

No. I just don't get the hate. You can dislike them all you want, but saying they suck for making an honest attempt at creating art I find to be baffling. Whatever, it's not a huge deal, I'd just rather come into the thread and talk about the album in question rather than saying "it fuckin sucks compared to" or "this beats the shit out of..."
