Indeed. I don't get how artists have such bad ears to allow the final product to sound like that.

Dangermouse has made mistakes in the past.

I've never really been a Black Keys fan but from what I heard of Turn Blue, it was especially boring.

Turn Blue is inhumanly homogenous to me, and it rubbed off Dan Auburch who then proceeded to ruin one of my favorite bands, Cage the Elephant with the same style of production. Ever since Dangermouse's collab with Sparklehorse, his production his been hit or miss. He has some sick hits like Evil Friends and misses like this.

Okay I'll give you guys turn blue. That was pretty meh. I rescind my statement then.

Hey clover was that sparkle horse collab worth a listen?

I liked it, some of the collabs are insanely good but some are pretty drab. If you like Dangermouse's production and Mark's composition then its a must listen. Dangermouse also produced Mark's final album which was kind of so-so compared to his first three.

The Getaway, Dark Necessities, We Turn Red, This Ticonderoga, Encore, The Longest Wave and Go Robot are awesome tracks. I believe they can do better on the next album if they continue this way with Josh.

This is listenable front to back. Stadium has way more filler.

I agree tho that the best off of stadium beat the best off of this (except for dark necessities that one is amazing)

Overall this isn't spectacular. There's a couple almost cringe-worthy songs (this coming from a long-time RHCP fan) that if gone could probably raise this to a 4.

But there's a lot of good here. The highs aren't as high as many of their other albums, but still some nice stuff.

If Sick Love had a better chorus it would be an extremely good song. One of the best riffs I've heard in years. Still an ok chorus.

Songs like Go Robot, Feasting on Flowers and the last few songs really grow on you.
