Yeah my thoughts too - they're big enough and have been playing together long enough to put on a great show. Seems totally worth it even if most of their stuff sounds like whiny repetitive pop-djent to me. Every album of theirs has a few bangers so w/e I'll definitely see em.

Periphery does sound really good live, saw them in 2014 I think

ya ramon, confirmed, that show was SICK. Spencer is maybe the most consistent live vocalist I've ever seen? Nailed every note. A perfect show really. So much better live than on record.

"There probably isn't a single damn person in this thread who listens to Volumes, but I think the bassist for this band, Daniel Schwartz, was the former rhythm guitarist for Volumes. I'm trying to confirm if this is true."
In response to my own post from last year, I found out it's a different Daniel Schwarts, lol.

This has influenced me a lot in making music these days even though I haven’t listened to the album in at least a year.

The drums are a bit harsh on the ears, but I like to see this as Alcest with solos. Comparison doesn't work entirely, but I guess you guys can see what I mean

One of the forums I'm on on facebook had someone talking about this album. I don't remember much about it, but I don't remember particularly enjoying it. I remember it sounding like A Skylit Drive

oh that's a bad similarity

Speaking of live performances, these guys were a little disappointing when I saw them. They didn't really capture the rich textures of the album and everything kinda just sounded like mush for the most part.

“oh that's a bad similarity”
Nah, pretty apt after revisiting both “Up and Atom” and “Wires and the Concept of Breathing”. This album really isn’t good. It’s decent. It has a lot of characteristics I like but when they all come together they somehow manage to sound like a mid-to-late 00’s post hardcore album and idk how it happens but it’s to its major detriment. 2.5 is generous to say the least and that’s because of the ending of Incandescent and Tin Foil Hats as a whole. Rest is kinda forgettable trash. Probably why I don’t remember it. Lol

Sorry to hear that SitarHero, the first time I saw them, it was the first I'd ever heard or seen of them. Walked into the show late and missed their set as they were opening, but they were playing one final song as I walked in. It sounded so melodic and dreamy that I instantly had to binge it when I got out of the show hours later. But it sounds like I'm in the minority. Maybe I've just been at the venues that worked acoustically and where the sound guys were having a good night.
