I think this is the best of the modern day Katatonia albums. I fluctuate on just how good it really is, because I feel like I always have some recency bias with these guys. Sometimes I think it's their best since Brave Murder Day, other times I feel like I enjoy the debut or LFDGD or viva emptiness more. But more often I lean towards the former position.

I always go back and forth on ranking this band since almost everything they've done is an easy 3.5 - 4. Extraordinarily consistent over the years even with the stylistic change. BMD is the only album that ventures into that higher territory for me.
