I always got the impression that the woman from SNW was on a date with rosie palms, but in the more hot way as opposed to Naomi Watts in Mulholland Drive which is all kinds of disturbing.

I'm totally in with the running opinion that the album finishes strong. The last four songs are pretty fantastic back to back.

Love how the title track flirts with djent. Always knew Steph would do it one day.

Umm, Diamond Eyes was all Meshuggah-lite.

You've Seen the Butcher and Risk kind of resemble djent, but the ending of the title track on hear just oozes djent.

How come Steven Carpenter didn't want to play on this record? Was it not heavy enough for him? If so he's on crack because he goes bonkers on the album. This is probably one of their heaviest albums in awhile

I dunno about that, they've always had at least a few really heavy tracks on their albums.

This is definitely their softest album.

Same. I thought Geometric Headdress and Pittura Infamante would grow on me, same with Xenon, but never really did. I'm impartial to Hearts/Wires as well, I love the intro and how the songs evolves, but it gets kinda average towards the end. Those songs fail to leave any sort of impression on me, while the rest is pretty much awesome.

This album is pretty polarizing when trying to put it on the soft/heavy scale.

I mean the title track is their most crushing song I've heard in awhile. Geometric headdress, doomed user, LMIRL, even prayers and triangles have screams in it. Pittura infamante has some very beefy riffs in it. Acid Hologram has got some heavy riffs as well. Idk maybe I'm crazy but I think it's pretty heavy lol

This is Deftones so of course it's heavy, but it's lighter than their previous albums.

Deftones can be heavy but that's not what makes them such an amazing band.

Thanks Scorching! I just meant that there's still gonna be heavy guitars and screaming since that's part of their sound. People are reacting to how many soft parts they're hearing on this, and agreed Tuna.

Yeah I like their more atmospheric side which this album also has in spades.

Your welcome Talons! Oh I knew what you meant. They have a lot of different aspects to their music. That's what makes them so great.
