It is dark. I've always gotten a huge Edgar Allen Poe vibe from this one. It reminds me a lot of his story Ligeia in tone and imagery.

eh just count isolation years as a bonus track. This is intentionally obviously dark, but Still Life has that realistic, believable sorrow to it in a "this kind of thing really happened to people" kind of sense.
