I like metal myself but yeah sometimes the closed-mindedness and the religiousness with which they talk about it, as well as the fact that they listen to like 90% of metal and don't even try to branch out, it rubs me the wrong way when metalheads do that

That tag line is funny, yet speaks to a broad consensus on this site, from what I've found at least. Example: It is a agreed fact that "None So Vile" is Crtptopsy's best album. Thus, people consistently/over-indulge in comparison to it by saying, "this album was good, but it's no none so vile." That stuff pisses me off, so you sir are pretty brave to write a review in the face of a community who hopes for every bands best album to have the next one be it's "2.0" as you say.
