Only got one partial listen in and I gotta say, it does not grab my attention like Act II or III did.

I got this album a couple of months ago and I listen to it every day. I had never heard of the band before, so I can't make any comparisons to other Dear Hunter albums, but this album is truly excellent.

I can see that there is a real difference of opinions on which songs are best and worst.... My favourite songs are probably "The Bitter Suite IV and V", "The Line", "The Old Haunt" and "Wait" (seriously, do NOT understand why this song is so underrated. It's a fantastic rock song!).

My least preferred songs are definitely "Kings of Swords", "If All Goes Well" and "The Squeaky Wheel" in that order. I've learned to accept them as decent songs, though.

All in all a great album and easily in my top 5 of 2015.

I've gotta say, Wait hits pretty hard in line with the narrative, but it's not exactly a highlight

@ BeeRyan: Yeah, I have seen that album being promoted as probably their best by other sites as well, so I definitely need to give it a listen.

@johnnydeking29: Well, it's all a matter of taste/opinions anyway and none of us are neither wrong or right. To me it's a definite highlight, you prefer other songs, no problem.

@DinosaurJones: That's a great song, agreed. But so are most on the album. :-)

There are 3 songs I outright don't like: The Old Haunt, The Squeeky Wheel, Wait.

I skip these songs. The Line is quite average but I don't so much dislike it. The rest of the album is almost flawless though.

I listened to the first two Acts years ago and was turned off to this whole band...but I gave this one a shot. And now A Night On the Town has been in my head for weeks

The vocals on Act II are very whiney emo vocals. The production is terrible. I can totally believe it.

yeah, for a long time Act II was my least favorite act. In addition to what Minty said, it's also kind of overstuffed.

If we are being honest, every TDH record is a bit overstuffed.
