I guess to each their own. Maybe it will grow on me.

New album is AOTY. One of the easiest 5's I've given.

First track is okay? Should I be worried?

These guys are my favorite band of all time, so I'm not really shocked at how much I'm digging the new record. They can do no wrong. Will probably end up being a 5, just like most of their discog.

The dynamics on the new record, the way they tease you instead of just giving you the instant gratification that you want... it just makes every payoff so much better. And the HOOKS too... it's just brilliant.

Edit: Also, Degenerates hugely reminds me of Mae.

Escapism is such a good song.

I'm with pepster. I didn't really like this new one at all

I didn't fall in love with any of the hooks. The instrumentation was pretty boring. overall, the album was just boring. I'm fine with them getting poppier but I don't think it paid off. Where The Mind Wants To Go is leagues ahead of most of this.

I'm legitimately sad, I was really really really looking forward to this.

I liked Symphony of Skin, and The Sound of Breathing.

Escapism started cool but got kinda meh and Sleepwalking was average.

I'm still not digging Chaos In Motion.

Degenerates didn't go anywhere.

Pet Names just felt kind of awkward.

Where You Let It Go was obviously incredibly emotional for Brent and the "I Will Love You Forever" definitely got to me, but the song still wasn't their best. I do kinda like how the melody was reminiscent of "And now we're on our own" from Andrew's Song and I hope that was on purpose.

111 Winchester was great so there's that.

on second listen...I like the first two...sorry for the supposedly false alarm. The hook in Pet Names is great

Yeah this is so much better now and god damn 111 Winchester is insanely good. I wish he used his falsetto to top of the chorus though but wow, what a great dancey pop rock track

Connector didn't click with me until the fourth or fifth listen. Now it's one of my favorite records of all time.

God I like Symphony of Skin so much. All the singles released too are great. Rest of the album is pretty damn good too.
