Still cant figure out for the life of me over what exactly the album cover of this is. Looks like a headcrab or something

Also this kinda grew off me a bit. Still shits all over Coal tho

Coal is better imo, this is a bit more tame than I would expect from Leprous. Hopefully their next one won't be even more linear

I think Coal is waaay better than this. Much more emotion and atmosphere on Coal.

Pretty good after one listen. Could see this growing. I think he has a good voice although in the latter half the approach becomes a litte monotonous. Also spun some of the tracks that stood out to me and as now Rewind and Slave are what keeps my interest in this.

Too many 'Ahh-Ahh-Ahhs' and 'Oh-Oh-Ohs' where proper syntax should have been...

Understandable. I would recommend TPS and Bilateral as they don't really have sections like that.

Moreover-no solos? proper prog needs guitar SOLOS, or am I getting old?

Yeah I would have hoped for more solos, but the band seem content without them on the past 2 albums. It kind of sucks because Oystein's comes up with some pretty cool solos. Plus Einar should have some keyboard solos as well.

The "vocal wankery" is best executed in Rewind on this. It seems forced at times whereas it was more natural on all the previous albums

Either way, this is one of the better metal albums released in the last year or so
