Well I disagreed with many of his points, but I didn't get the feeling that he "decided" not to like it. Why would he, his whole career hinges on being credible and honest.
Whatever, a lot of people seem to agree with you, since it's almost got 50% thumbs down.

I feel he decided not to like it too. That's the problem with his reviews. You can kind of predict what score he's going to give to each album before it comes out tbh. Like for this one I don't get his point about Hiatus Kaiyote taking "faint risks" when he then lists about 4-5 elements that you should ignore in order for his point to be true. And as if this was even the point to begin with. This argument seems to be there just to give a criticism to the hype surrounding the album rather than the album itself. The point about the production is pure bullshit too... how can it be bad throughout when the only thing that he found was that the drum sounded flat? The namedrop of artists he finds superior just to prove his point was annoying too and unnecessary.
tl;dr I'm not the biggest fan of this album, but his review felt rushed and contrived.
