Listened to Black Lake on the plane watching Mount Fuji in the distance and I cried like a little bitch.

yep! it is more and more likely that björk forgot to write anything resembling a hit, but after weeks of listening to this (and not listening to it and just giving it time) I can definitely say björk moved on on vulnicura and it's a step ahead - unlike, in many cases, Biophilia. the structures of the songs are really what stands out here - I guess I did expectr even a bit more from the collaboration with Arca (and Haxan Cloak), but Family and Mouth Mantra are tracks with some really strong ideas and moments - beautiful drone second half in the former and a great combo of laser beats and strings in the latter. however! both of these trackes are even stronger in some live versions (Family - Vulnicura Live where the amazing drones are twice as strong; Mouth Mantra - Live in Rome. complex as hell structure of the song on the visuals, pyro and fireworks and shit in the epic ending, missing in the album version - absolutely amazing). Stonemilker is an obvious fan favourite and probably the safest pick here, but not that it's not a good track (maybe even stronger in its Vulnicura Strings version).

"black lake" is greatest, most songs rule, antony's part in "atom dance" is awful

Lionsong is pretty awsm too.

And here I finish my Bjork marathon.

Conclusion: First 4 albums are best Bjork. Homogenic rips them all to pieces. Médulla isn't as bad as I remembered. Volta is worst than I remembered, but still good. I fucking loved Biophilia. Vulnicura is kinda dull but has a few amazing over the top tracks.

GIMME MORE, BIORK!

Vespertine is her best though and I like this and Biophilia just as much as Post.

Because art defines itself solely over being expressive imo, and you can't tell me songs like Venus As a Boy aren't expressive
