That's like saying Luc Lemay has nothing on David Draiman.
Think I just vomited, legit reported.

this feels like DBM without jonny. I wish they would make a dgd album like this and have tillian fighting jon for the spotlight that would be awesome. but I still love this without cleans but damn there's some awesome passages that would be great with some girly ass singing

this such a cluster of influences it should remind you of 100 other bands as well as the chariot.

This is probably one of the most straight forward thing they've done. At least with some songs

they're all over the place. some poppy bouncy stuff, heavy af, slow riffing, off the wall wanking I mean every 20 seconds or so they transition into a different sub genre I would never consider this straight forward.
but you know, subjectivity or whatever.
|
| |
There isn't lots of sub genre hoping in this as happiness let's say. Most of this album is post hardcore filtered through the lens of swans unique guitar playing and really doesn't leave that realm too much (not that it's a bad thing) this is their most 'core' influenced album to date and most songs wear that influence proudly on their sleave but the band doesn't really hope around genres too much. Sure songs may go from heavy AF to a more lighthearted part but thats a tone shift. Not necessarily a genre shift

sub genre hopping. bleh forget 'genre'. let me rephrase; this album is constantly unique. not just from other bands but from itself everytime there's a progression. not at all straight forward.
I feel like we're arguing semantics. never mind. this is awesome lets just talk about how awesome it is. wasted youth is my favorite right now.
