^I agree, after repeated listens all the tracks here are strong

This is their most consistent and arguably best record ever.

Well, I dunno about that, Cities and Vital hit me real hard. This album is getting underrated by a lot of people though, its a great way to go out for sure.

I think that this is a step above vital and on par with cities because of Fin.

This might be their most consistent album, but it also doesn't have as many standouts as their other top albums, imo

what toxin said

I would disagree. This has We Are Destroyer (my fav of their opening tracks), Armageddon (which is sick as fuck), and Velvet Covered Brick which is one of their best songs ever.

yeah but what song on here honestly stands out as much as Fin, Miserabile Visu, Little Tyrants...?

I would argue that Velvet Covered Brick tops Miserable Visu and Little Tyrants wasn't that much of a standout on vital.

Different opinions is all I can chalk that up to then. Because Visu is almost as good as Fin, and Little Tyrants was easily the best song on Vital.
(We all love Anberlin though, so it's okay!)

I would say Depraved is just as good is not better than Miserable Visu. And on vital I preferred Type Three, Modern Age, And Self Starter though I'm not denying Little Tyrants is fucking stellar.

The thing that holds MV back for me though is that it feels like it never truly reaches it's climax.

that's stranger ways for me
it keeps building towards a climactic roar of guitar and soaring vocals, and every time all i get is a meh chorus instead
so frustrating

I feel the same though I'm not as frustrated about it.

The climax to me is when he's saying "look children to the eastern sky" followed by the guitar solo... Such an epic end of the world song, actually surprised you don't dig it a hell of a lot more than you do

Don't get me wrong, I love it. And after re-listening to it just now I'm not as frustrated about it's climax even though I think it ends kinda suddenly (Whereas Fin has the best ending ever).

Well yeah it's not Fin, but what is?

Never knew it was an end of the world song. Just thought it was something religious like fin.
