I also seem to be one of the few who don't really dig Exometrium.

i'm a slut, sarcasm is above me. Typically i try not to listen to something too much on one day because i hate burning myself out too quickly. I know spiderland is going to be fresh for a loooong time. quickest 5 ever if i rated something outside of fugazi and glassjaw lol

i agree. But spiderland and WaT and just ordinary albums so no, I go back and cosmopolitian bloodloss is still the catchiest song ever, bar none, in my book. but take parts unknown for example, i knows this album isn't like that so i just like to take my time enjoying it, like saving a bag of candy idk weird metaphor. lol

don still gets me. every. fucking. time. how does it do it

"i can't hear a 1.5 in this lmao"

I definitely can. It's like Andrew W.K. trying to be Converge. Both are equally great on their own. But mix the two is awful. Old

ETID is amazing but this.. It's shit now. Maybe it's a grower but as of now I can't find anything I like other than parts of "El

Dorado"

It'll be highly rated like Mastodon's new release to begin with but in a month or two, it'll be in the 3's (albeit too much for even

now), but it won't hold a 4.2 long

That is a ridiculously vague and illogical analogy. Please go back to high school and take another course in rhetorics.

Every "mainstream" album has a 4.0+ rating on sputnik for the first few months. Even the new ADTR and Linkin Park were almost at 4.4 with 100 votes

I can't see what's so great about this release

One fact is clear, they were envy because Jane Doe got SOOO much hype and praise and they must have been like "hmm guys, let's write a bunch of Jane Doeish chaotic hardcore riffs" "Oh that's a good idea, this album will get a load of positive feedback, even Bannon might praise us" "haha so true"

and then they wrote, recorded and released this dull record :/

Album slays, and Kurt Ballou's fingerprints are all over it - guy is becoming a god of a producer

"I can't see what's so great about this release"
Get an encyclopaedia, open it - go to o - look up the word "opinion".

"One fact is clear"
Considering what follows this is either a paradox or you have some proof we don't in which case I'd like to see it.

"they were envy because Jane Doe got SOOO much hype and praise"
And when was Jane Doe released ? 2001? Surely people get such ideas 13 years after an album's release. I also don't see how this compares to Jane Doe, if anything this compares to the latest Converge album.

"and they must have been like "hmm guys, let's write a bunch of Jane Doeish chaotic hardcore riffs" "Oh that's a good idea, this album will get a load of positive feedback, even Bannon might praise us" "haha so true""
This makes me think that you did not realize that this album was produced by Kurt Ballou, which easily explains why the guitars sound like they do.

"no... I just don't like when someone tries to ripoff my favorite hardcore band"
See above, if they were ripping them off - why would Converge's guitarist produce their album?

/facepalm

Until Your Heart Stops is Kurt's masterpiece

All of his album productions sound the same lately. Which isn't his fault, the bands show Kurt what they wish their album

would sound like.

Example: Rise and Fall said they wanted the same production and mixing as a converge album
