The vocalist in Typewriter is Adam Fisher from Fear Before/Orbs. He kinda sounds like Cedric from AtDI/Mars Volta, tho.

I've been seeing the Adam/Cedric comparison quite a lot lately, and I'm a bit surprised by it, to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy both vocalists, but Cedric is generally higher in pitch and Adam Fisher has a far more nasally quality.
It's also worth noting, Adam Fisher also wrote his parts on Chicago Typewriter. I'm a big fan of Fear Before (and to a slightly lesser extent, Orbs and All Human) and his lyrical style definitely shows. He provides a really great contrast to Jerry Jones - both lyrically and vocally. Apparently Jerry is working with him on the upcoming All Human release, which already fills me with excitement.

I also love his contribution on Chicago Typewriter. More vocally than lyrically.

"I move through the rooms like a hemorrhaged balloon, I tickle your neck with the stink of my breath" might be my favourite lyric on the entire album.

I wouldn't say there are any truly bad lyrics on here and shut up about the vocals. Jerry Jones is a sick vocalist, sounds like
the son of Tom Waits

Idk, I'd like to see some examples of the horrible lyrics.

The thing is I hate Tom Waits. Cleans are fine here but when he strains his voice I just want to stop listening.
You don't think Crystallophobia is chock full of cringeworthy lines?

The "fuck your face part" and the anthemic ending? I don't know, I can see why some people may see them as cringeworthy, but not for me. They just add the emotion.

Pretty much. I'd like to see them try something without the harsh vocals in the future. Really dig the female that guests on most of the tracks too, whoever she is.

I really dig Alligator. Alligators. If you haven't heard it yet, you should. No harsh vocals whatsoever.

Finally bought this album after a hell of a lot of interest in it because of the acclaim it has garnered. And my god, this is musical bliss. I was immediately hooked and couldn't put this down. So many songs on here that I adore. Can't believe I waited this long to check this out.
