Chevelle returns to fine form and the world can go back to normal.

Peace be with you all.

@Wadlez

As far as other Chevelle albums after this, that's difficult, because this is such a different-sounding album than any of the others. If you have to pick another, I'd agree with sapient and try This Type of Thinking. However, like I said, comparing this to any other Chevelle album's sound is not easy.

This Type of Thinking or Vena Sera would do fine as logical next steps after this. It's not THAT different. It's just that HOTTB was so soft in comparison to their other stuff we forgot that they're still capable of being this heavy. I hear a bit of both those albums all over the place on this.

I want to love Chevelle, but they always seem a band that never realizes their full potential. I know deep down they have a masterpiece hiding inside of them, but is it too late to dig it out?

i'm right there with ya deathschool. they're one of those bands that I consider good, but never have any motivation to actually own an album by them

Vena Sera is a really good listen. Straight Jacket Fashion might be one of their best songs. Looking forward to this new one.

Excellent review, excellent album. Never thought Chevelle would have a better album than WWN, this one definitely is though.

I just don't get why people like "Choking Game". Yeah the riff at the end is awesome but the entire other first 80% of the song

is average for Chevelle. He keeps saying to "feel the rush" and all I can think is "I'm not really feeling the rush man. Just stop

it Pete...you're embarassing yourself". Definitely the weakest song on the album, probably the only weak one tbh.
