6 out of 10 on every music review site...umm are you just referring to pitchfork? pitchfork slammed weeknd as not having enough harmonies. Yup good job pitchfork, its not poppy. Pitchfork gives 10s to garbage indie so I really don't give that website much credibility. Didn't they give Yeezus a 10?

I'd listen to this 100x more than Channel Orange, Kaledioscope Dream or 20/20 experience. Those 3 cds do things that have already been done before. Good albums no doubt, but Kissland is a new sound.

AllMusic 2.5/5 stars

Clash 8/10

Entertainment Weekly B+

Exclaim! 6/10

Los Angeles Times 3.5/5 stars

Pitchfork Media 6.2/10

Slant Magazine 2/5 stars

Spin 7/10

Largely around the 6-7/10 mark, and with an average metacritic score of 69/100

So no, not just pitchfork.

pitchfork slammed weeknd as not having enough harmonies.

Pitchfork said that the subtle melodies are much weaker, and that the textures and atmosphere (which are such a big part of his sound) aren't as good either. And that the lyrics are shit and that it lacks a threaded theme.

All of which were vital to the mixtapes. So no, it's not just "harmonies".

Yup good job pitchfork, its not poppy.

Don't see what that has to do with "harmonies", and they never really went into whether it was "pop-y" or not, since that wasn't the basis of their argument. And this album's no less accessible than the mixtapes anyway.

Pitchfork gives 10s to garbage indie so I really don't give that website much credibility.

Read the review independent of any bias and actually argue against the particular points it make rather than use ad hominem to try to circumvent it.

Didn't they give Yeezus a 10?

9.5

I still think Thursday is his best.

I need to listen this album a few more times but right now I think I agree with this review. The title track had me really hyped for this, and so did 'Belong To The World', but after hearing it in full very little of it has stuck. It seems like there's something missing. I'll go back and give it a more attentive listen or three before rating it, but right now it's just passable.

I got schooled? Shitty comment?

1 I really don't care what the mainstream media thinks. Entertainment Weekly is really a trusted source. GREAT CITE!

2. I don't need an Eve 6 groupie to tell me what to listen to. HEART IN A BLENDER BABY!

3. If you think Chinese Democracy is a 4.5 you are deaf and Sputnik must have extremely low standards in approving contributors.

4. Not wasting my time with stupid unemployed kids writing from basements.

Sianara.

Notice how he's using the exact same shitty fallacies I accused him of using before.

Normally wouldn't bother replying but fuck it.

1 I really don't care what the mainstream media thinks. Entertainment Weekly is really a

trusted source. GREAT CITE!

Well done ignoring every other one shown. And ignoring that the point was that that was the general

opinion regardless of whether the source was mainstream or not (not all of them are). And you don't

care what they think because you're wrong and that's your only way of squeezing out of the argument

without admitting you're wrong.

2. I don't need an Eve 6 groupie to tell me what to listen to. HEART IN A BLENDER BABY!

Not sure what this is aimed at or if you can even read so I'm just gonna go ahead and leave it as

is.

3. If you think Chinese Democracy is a 4.5 you are deaf and Sputnik must have extremely low

standards in approving contributors.

We're not talking about me, are we darling?

4. Not wasting my time with stupid unemployed kids writing from basements.

I'm a uni student at one of the most respected educational institutions in the world but nice try.

You're just missing the point (again).

Maybe you should be the one getting the job, or at least going back to school so they can teach you

how to properly converse again.
