"this "scene" just doesn't do anything for me anymore"
Beginning to feel the same way :/. Want something fresh and all these bands are sounding the same.

Yeah, after listening to the stream, my opinion stays the same. A 3.5. Unlike The Discovery, I actually like this album. Yeah, they chug a lot, but it's not the star of the album. I like the synthesizer here and they're actually incorporated well instead of being atmosphere killers like in The Discovery. That and this album is just plain fun. Yeah, a lot of it is stupid, but its still fun.

Man, the tracks I've listened to sound so bland. Machine's not bad, but I'm not even interested in checking out the rest.

Agreed as well. Other than some of the...err..."classics", I can't really get enjoyment out of this stuff anymore.

I'm liking this. I prefer to pay attention to the smart leads and tasteful synth and at least the djuns alternate frequently in each song so it doesn't get too stagnant

The biggest problem is that people treat chugging as an automatic negative unless its meshuggah

smart leads and tasteful synth

terrible band tbh

Meshuggah is awesome though. Koloss was a solid release and shows signs of a band ready to make their next innovation. This release makes me feel like they have lost the will to do anything but continue to make money.

Ugh... I absolutely hated Koloss. Same shit, different name. Same chugging in different time signatures. Same Kidman growling in that monotonously obnoxious voice of his. Same polyrhythems. There was nothing new in their music, no innovations, and was just plain generic in comparison to all the music around today.

agreed with flut and epi hard
the hyprocrisy and bias with bands like this is a joke on sput.
If all these guys do is breakdowns and chugs then thats all shug does
the synth adds to the music and takes the lead a lot but since they're a core band its gay and gimmicky ofcourse

I gave it a 1 because the downfall was epic lol. I agree it's not actually a 1 if it comes down to it, but the disappointment influenced me too.
I've never heard a song of a higher place just The Discovery and this album.
I saw them live one time too, i can't even remember who i was there to see, i been to so many show over the years.

jac im not talking about you im speaking about the site in general
@deadguy
dude rate the album on its own merits

Album Rating: 1.0 | Sound Off
i personally cannot rate this higher, the quality compared to what i have heard from them before is significantly lower. So much lower that it actually makes me not capable of judging it alone.
Don't get me wrong i do judge albums as if it is someone's debut 99% of the time. It's good to go into music with no prejudgement, but i cannot look past this. I know it's narrow minded but I cannot get past it.
