I really don't understand the disdain for this album.

I just find it very boring really

I am still somewhat interested in hearing the version with better quality, I'm sure the production
won't be as bad and lifeless there, but the songs themselves hardly do anything for me other than the
opener and the closer

I don't know how I feel about this album. The majority of the songs are fun and catchy and all that but they just feel hollow at the same time if that makes sense.

I think that my 3.5 is being generous. There are some decent moments and most of the songs are faily catchy, but this album lacks any standout moments. Fake History has an intensity and groove that The Blackest Beautiful is sorely missing.

The clean choruses are god awful.

I don't know why an album would need standout moments. Or maybe I misinterpret what you mean.

This album is constantly good, why isn't that enough? =(

Because standout moments make an album memorable?

On "The Dope Beat" when he sings "I don't know what to do", it sounds so much like he's gonna follow it up with "I guess I've gotta give part 2 of my confessions".

That's pretty much what I was saying. There is nothing all that memorable.

27 and the ending of fear fever are the only moments that stand out for me

There's some soul on their previous releases, but I don't know why there's a prog tag

people will call anything that isn't verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge song structure progressive

"why the hell did someone put this as soul and prog rock?"

Jason has stated that some of his singing has Soul influences, idk if it's enough to get them there
tho

Prog tag has always been there and it has always been lol

This is pretty memorable once you give it more than three listens...
