This feels average

The issues was reanimation had really legit mixes, and decent guest despite of the filler, recharged only had the remix of victimized and the rest is just reallly shallow and pointless EDM. This one has great songs but ballads are boring as hell and is really, really mesy

I could. Maybe in the future, but it's really not my biggest concern right now haha
As for Rick Rubin, it's not only his fault. Most of the blame goes to LP for making MTM so bland and
boring to blend in with the same bland production.

Well, when in doubt, blame the producer. At least that's the rule for Howard Benson, :P

Mongi, Rubin was the the guy that threw the rule book on how LP write. Sure, LP will have had a good say in it all, but for the most part Rubin is at fault. Not only that, but everything since Meteora (i.e all the other albums) Rubin has been involved and tbh they haven't quite the same since.

They wanted to go to a more heavy sound with this album and Rubin advised against it. Fuck him.

I clearly don't know how producer stuff works then. Do they have to have to take his advice do to a
contract or something?

album sucks either way

Rubin basically said do whatever you want and LP didn't want another heavy record so they made this. MTM was originally gonna be heavy but over time they thought this lighter material was better.

Rubin was the the guy that threw the rule book on how LP write.
I find this statement to be false and here's why:
That's not the job of a producer to do so, and I'm sure even Rick Rubin knows that. If that's the case the LP should've gotten rid of him in the first place. And secondly, why did Rubin return for ATS and LT if that's true?
It's the job of a band to decide what they want to sound like and what they want to write, and the producer helps put the pieces together by overseeing the overall production, offering ideas to the artist, and help mixing and mastering the overall album/song. I'm not saying Rick Rubin wasn't responsible for everything on MTM, but it's usually the bands decision on what they want the album to sound like.
Sure he probably suggested not to go for a heavier sound, but he didn't force them to. It was LPs decision, so it's mostly their fault for the flaws on this record. At least that's what I think.

QWERTY was originally meant to be a single on this. Maybe not the lead single, but possibly.
