He has made a subjective review, and I think it is in the same line as Rolling Stone, or any other magazine.
And after that, you have put the album in the Punk section, which is completely wrong.
The album is influenced by pop, but possesses the essence that characterizes the band, with or without the Farro brothers.
As commented, the album has air synth. And it is not a surprise, they were looking for a change, new sounds and hence the title of the album, a re-introduction.
It seems that independent blogs have better comments about current music.
Remember to set the album into a genre that corresponds.

The only reason why this review is put in the "punk" section of the site is because it refers to the band and not the album. The majority of Paramore's work has been pop punk therefore pop punk is the main genre of the band. Pop punk is put under the "punk" section of the site, meaning that all reviews regarding this album will be under the "punk" section of the site despite not being very "punk" at all.

You only reviewed 5 songs, seriously if it wasn't for the interludes, i'd give this album a 3.5 or 4. Ain't it fun was a good song up until that choir started singing that painfully awful line.

Well, shit.
The thing is, I really like this band. Their previous albums were not masterpieces, by any means,
but were very fun to listen to with some great tunes that managed to leave an impression, specially
"brand new eyes", wich is the best one for me.
But man... what the hell is this album? Something seriously got lost along the transition to this
"new" Paramore. I was supportive of the change, because I thought tracks like "Monster" and
"Renegade" were pretty good, but this is NOTHING like those.
It's disjointed, overly produced, Hayley's voice is very hit or miss (and I never thought I'd say
that lol) and it's way too poppy. I'm fine with change, but not a COMPLETE turn on your own style,
when in the final result you sound NOTHING like previous albums, almost completely losing your
identity. There were like... 3 or 4 songs that I liked (Part II being one of them... seriously, I
really love this tune, it's one of their best for me), but the rest was just really boring, bland
and overall unimpressive. This is quite frustrating. I really wanted this to be good.
Oh well...
