It dosent even diserve to be called it metal.
Too bad you're about as qualified to judge what is and isn't metal as Pat Boone.

"Through The Fire And Flames" is a sweet song! Herman Li is a God!

I think i prefer Gus G from Firewind as a shredder than Herman Li, I think you guys should deffinately check that guy out cause he's amazing, and he can actually write a melodic solo as well as blow people away with speed. You don't find many shredders around who can play melodically as well as they can play fast. Check out 'The Fire and The Fury' man thats some awesome shit

Easy there, lass. This isn't your diary, it's a music site. Try, if you could, to conduct yourself in a more professional manner. Besides, while the music is good, these guys are really ugly.
And doesnt herman drink through every concert
I'm not sure about every concert, but he definitely is drunk of his arse for a good majority of the shows he plays, yes.

Everything here is an opinion, so by your logic no one should be saying anything about anything.

Your a flaming idiot

And you're an emotionally excitable and overly defensive brat. At least, that's the impression I get because you respond to my statement with petty namecalling like a 2nd grader.
Kid, you're talking out of your ass. You obviously don't know what an opinion is, and none of us should have to apologize for our opinions, least of all to you. This Message Edited On 01.01.07

I don't even care your just an idiot. Your just saying things to contradict me for no reason. The reason i said that is because no one cares if that person thinks Sam Totman is a better guitarist because thats just his opinion.

Pretty much the wholoe purpose of solos is to show off.
BTW no one cares because thats all an opinion to begin with
Not really. It's well known fact that Herman is quite sloppy live, contributes next to nothing in the song writing department and due to the fact that he improvises his solos in studio he reuses large sections of them in different songs. Meanwhile Sam in not nearly as sloppy, does a vast majority of the songwriting and his solos aren't anywhere near as repetitive.

Grammar is your friend, kid. Now, I'm not particularly contradictive by nature. True, I have a thing for playing devil's advocate. But I believe you in particular are talking out of your ass.
Why? Because everything here is opinion-based. The whole point of this site is to share opinions. So who are you to tell somebody that their opinion should not be expressed?
Is you see a problem with his logic, bring it up. If you have a counterpoint to make, by all means voice it! But unless you are witness to horrifying displays of stupidity, don't tell them that they can't say something because you personally don't care and assume you can speak for everyone.

The opinion is of the cd not what guitarist you think is better then Herman Li. And solos are a lot more about just showing off. Most of the time they fit the mood of the song and I think sometimes Dragonforce does it when its not necessary, therefore showing off. All I asked was does anyone else feel the same way then i have a hundred people trying to bite my head off about something i wasn't even talking about.

Yes it is, because the quality of the solos and the fact whether they are coherent definitely contribute to the overall quality of a disc, let alone the opinion a reviewer/commenter may have on that particular disc. If he thinks a guitarist called Herman Li is inferior to Sam Totman, and that therefore certain songs are worse or better, this definitely is a valid point to discuss. Same goes for showing off. The whole point of reviews indeed, is opinion: but for an opinion to be considered valid, it is imperative that you back those up to support your claims, or you will be drawing conclusions from thin air.

Thats not even what i'm trying to say. I said a lot of solos fit the mood of the song and a lot of the time Dragonforce seems like it doesn't. All i wanted to know is does anyone else feel the same way. Its simply a yes or no question i don't need a whole critique.

All right, I'll bite. No, I disagree.
Now watch as you come back and try to force the idea that they do onto me.

But without a critique, what point is there to voicing your opinion altogether? This is a discussion thread, not a poll.
|
| |
The opinion is of the cd not what guitarist you think is better then Herman Li.
However, since both are members of the band that recorded this album, weighing the pros and cons of both is a relevant topic of discussion.
