There's like maybe 3 minutes of blasts on this album. Took 10 years to bore me.

"well respected audio engineer Nino Laurenne actually told Jari that it'd be best if he mixed it himself as no-one else would be able to make it match his vision."
That's like telling me not to hire an architect to design my home because it wouldn't match my vision.
Jari ended up delivering a fairly solid mix for what it is - but the production on Time is far from unique. This would have been finished years ago had it been engineered and mixed with someone else. That said, I understand that he had some financial constraints.

This did make up for the mess that Ensiferum delivered this year.
As an album that I waited about 8 years for, a bit disappointing. But listening to it for what it is, it's very enjoyable.

It took him 8 years to write this AND Time II wiz
I can name 10 bands that have written 5 albums in 8 years and of better quality, who cares if he wrote two albums.
|
| |
Okay, so it took him a long time
so what?

Sorry Tyraelxy, that comment was more towards Muikuli. But still, two albums and the second is probably going to be of this quality. I mean in the real working world, that's considered pretty mediocre and your business will fail. Thank you for pointing out that he is indeed releasing a second album and it wasn't some cultural typo, I seriously didn't make the connection hahaha.
And Muikuli, basically you wrote that Jari is an overachiever and yet he still didn't write a masterpiece and sat around for good chunks of time masturbating to Casio keyboards, amirite?

Agreed with this. He easily could have cut out Darkness and Frost to get the album below 80 minutes.

My point was that it was not the writing process that took long, it was the orchestrations.

Or he could have just released a double CD set like GY!BE. Still comes with two CDs so it could still sell for the same price, but without the pointless wait between. The simultaneous release of both works would made the overall release look better, since it'd be easier to look over a meh track or two in favor of the whole. This way I think people are just going to complain about the short lengths of both CDs, and the filler tracks on each. Stupid marketing decision imo.

Yeah, a double CD would make way more sense
