That's interesting because it used to be my favorite Rainbow but I now feel that it's not as mystical as Rising or magical as s/t but somewhere between. Still love it though.

It's interesting to note that Rainbow was one of the bands responsible for the separation between hard rock and metal that took place in the late 70's. IMO, hard rock and metal were hard to separate in the first half of the decade, since they kinda coexisted in the same bands. When Priest and these guys came about, the separation became clearer.

However, that's my opinion.

Oh definitely, angelic. The intro though is stolen from Hendrix's "Hey Joe". lol, Blackmore.

Van Halen arrived around this time as well (1978) and contributed to that separation as well, albeit on the hard rock side of things.

Honestly, Dio might make that list of fave vocalists, his performances here are far too epic. Just goes to show that band chemistry > individual musicians.

Yeah, his voice in here is something out of this world, and it was on the other 2 Rainbow classic

albums as well

haha manosg, it's more obvious on Catch the Rainbow, it's like Little Wing Pt.2 even the lyrics are

similar

I believe these guys had like 4 good albums, sucked, and then had a so-so comeback album before disbanding.

Their first 3 are classics, Down to Earth is a commercial rock, underrated classic, Graham Bonnet was an EXCELLENT vocalist, I really like Difficult to Cure, but most people don't think that way. Their next 2 suck, hard, and Stranger in Us All is underrated too, awesome comeback

Their comeback album was pretty great. Definitely better than anything Purple dd in the 90s.

Not at all man. Three of their worst albums are in that decade one of which is the horrible Abandon.

Rainbow > Solo > Sabbath [2]. My favorites of each era are this, The Last in Line, and Heaven and Hell.

Stargazer is too fucking good. [2] As for the Rainbow discography, none of their albums were solid after Dio left, but most of them were not bad albums for mainstream hard rock.

Of course it is, however, sometimes I think Tarot Woman may be better
