Tbh I only tend to jam Vulgar and Cowboys from Pantera nowadays.
Jammed this a couple of times and I found it quite dull, Floods is amazing though.

that's funny, I'm the opposite. I am bored by cowboys and vulgar but i love this and power metal is pretty good too. I am mostly a fan of Dime and I like his playing on this, the vocals as well as Seth Putnam(peace be upon him) briefly doing backing vox, and floods is def a peak moment. I should prob check that first album lol.

Power Metal actually rules yeah.
I am on a slight Pantera kick really so I guess it wouldn't hurt to give this another go!

You all should just be like me and jam everything from Cowboys on. Every single Pantera album starting with Vulgar is the most crushing weight lifting, testosterone music ever.
They don't exist before Cowboys, though.

Reinventing rules hard indeed, it's on par with Far Beyond Driven for me, but this one is untouchable.

who was the bloke talking about recycled chugging monotone riffs on this?
I totally used to think the same thing when I first heard this album back in the day. I knew most of CFH and VDoP on guitar and when I first heard GSTK I felt that, with the exception of a couple of spots, the guitar work was a bit dumbed down.
then I tried learning a couple tracks on here and quickly realized the intricacy and the layers of shit that are actually going on.
I agree that Reinventing is very good, and that VDoP is their brand statement record, but this is definitely their most complex and heaviest work across all aspects.
