One of the best albums of all time. Genesis' greatest achievement and the peak of the Gabriel era. If you rate it anything less than a 5 you can't call yourself a fan of prog.

Every member of the band was at the top of their game. The complex song structures, clever lyrics, superb vocals from both Peter and Phil, awesome bass lines, incredible guitar by Hackett (Firth of Firth), and mind-blowing keys by the master himself, Mr. Tony Banks. The album is faultless.

Every time I hear the Cinema Show I am blown away by Tony Banks. The songwriting is pure genius. Of course Peter and Phil also give an incredible performance

There really is no need to go into more detail. If you haven't heard it, you need to.

Masterpiece that puts so many prog albums to shame, especially any crap released by Pink Floyd.

I've been meaning to get into Genesis for a while; is this the best album to start with?

Absolutely. Then try Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, and the Lamb LIes Down on Broadway.

awesome album [2]. As much as I love Nursery Cryme, I love this album a lot as well, and it is why a lot of Genesis fans would be interested in hearing Nursery Cryme.
