You mustn't have there in the early days, bro. They once played with this all-girl anarchist punk band. Oh, and they also played a show with Limp Bizkit/Korn. Who else...man, the list of shitty bands goes on. You have no idea how many times I've had to sit through bands like Silverstein to wait for their sets, and fuck, I've seen Hostage like 11 times because of Protest :|

I'd like to see PTH and BTBAM tour together. I'd give up good money to see that.

I saw PTH, BTBAM and Glass Casket two summers ago actually.

Seriously? Holy shit, that must have been one hell of a concert. I haven't heard Glass Casket, but I know members of BTBAM are in it.

Yeah at the time they weren't though, it was when BTBAM had their other (and better) line-up, the one with Kevin Falk on bass. It really was unreal, especially considering I had just seen the Dillinger Escape Plan like three days prior.

Nice catch. This is actually the worst version of the review, I had a better one that I fixed up on the site and then it crashed and lots of reviews were lost, so I just posted this shitty one up.

Damn, you go to a lot of cool shows. I haven't been to a concert since I stopped listening to nu-metal (which was about a year ago) So Sigh will be my first since that time.

If you mean the Melechesh tour, then yeah Sigh is actually off that. Cancelled. They're playing two california dates with Mayhem though.

And, to close this off topic banter off on an appropriate note: I did used to go to lots of cool shows. I used to see Protest like once a month, sometimes more, before they stopped playing in Toronto so much (ie: got big enough to play outside of it). I also used to know a lot of promoters, so I could get in relatively free.

Yeah, I was talking about the Mayhem tour. I have no fucking idea what Melechesh is.

And this album totally owns. I almost want to bump this up to a 5, but it just feels like it hasn't been around long enough yet for me to consider it a classic, imo.

I gave it a 5 pretty much instantly, which is weird. This has easily been the most important band for me, musically, though, so it's warranted. Their EP helped me transition from punk/hardcore into metal (while still being able to appreciate the former), and I wont like, it helped my vocabulary a little bit too.

Protest actually got me into Dostoevsky. And that led to my love for literature. This album is just incredible.

I Am Dmitri fan eh? That's still my favourite song of theirs actually. There's a reason they still play it.

This is easier for me to pick up and listen to than Alaska. Wait a minute, thats because its almost a completely different genre!
