On this day 20 years ago, June 20th 2000, ‘Undeceived’ was unleashed on the world! This album opened many doors for us, and a key figure in that regard was Samuel Durling. He showed his faith in us by signing Extol to his label Endtime Productions for our debut album ‘Burial’. Unlike the bunch of juveniles he had signed, he knew his way around the metal scene in regards to image, contacts and financials. He even made cover and inlay art for several of our releases, including everything you can see in the Undeceived booklet.

We also owe thanks to Asgeir Mickelson (Borknagar/Spiral Architect) who gave us a boost of confidence when he wrote a stellar review of the ‘Embraced’ demo in Scream Magazine back in 1996, and also helped to pave the way for us signing with Century Media Records on ‘Synergy’. We actually took a break during the recording of Undeceived to play a show with his band Spiral Architect and Covenant in December 1999.

At the time of release we toured the U.S., Cornerstone Festival being the highlight of the tour (as usual). The memories and friendships that were formed at Cornerstone are too many to mention.

Undeceived was released on Endtime Productions, Solid State Records and Avalon/Marquee (Japan) in 2000. In 2002 it was re-released on Century Media.

Not that i am doubting you Source! Just stating that the info in some sites (RYM, etc) is inaccurate!

And here's to those 20 years!
