Korn frontman Jonathan Davis describes the new album as "very well-rounded, with a mix of mellow, upbeat tracks; possibly the most well-proportioned Korn album of all time."

korn hasn't released an actually great album since follow the leader. they invented a genre, but any step away from it is near impossible for them.

honestly, of the cd's coming out next tuesday for hard rock/metal, Chevelle's new album is what I'm really looking forward to. you don't need to re-invent/create-a-genre to sound good

while i agree with pretty much everything you mentioned, i don't understand your resentment for "brostep". if anything, every other mainstream electronic act deserves the same attention, as they both share the same standards of over-production and simplicity. it seems you're not comfortable about it inheriting the same name as its british predecessor rather than its general production quality

either way, great review!

This seems like it was written in a rush. Lot of redundancy. Will not be listening to this.

I'm already seeing a bunch of terrible metalcore/deathcore bands with power tool bass wobbles on Facebook calling themselves "HxC/Dubstep" or something.

Also, I feel bad for Skrillex in some sense. He's actually a pretty good producer and he's definitely in the top-tier of brostep producers, but he gets the most shit for bringing the jumpstarting the genre into the mainstream and being the most popular producer in the genre.

I've only listened to a few songs of this so I can't rate it but it sounds pretty...eh. Some parts utilize the "bass wobbles" well, but most of the time it sounds pretty cheesy.

Good review Deviant and I see where you're coming from but I find this album surprisingly cool, probably won't listen to it much after this week but for now I'm kinda digging the sound

but on the review, dev, i feel like this is where your electronic music elitism does you a disservice;
i believe you that this is awful, but surely there's a better reason as to why it's awful than "fuck
brostep"
