Been listening to this again today and I just noticed that Robb sings 'The swarm of locusts'. I know
this is nitpicking, but a group of locust is called a plague, not a swarm.

This album is virtually the same song writing as on The Blackening only a little tighter. I liked the Blackening but you really do feel its length at times, especially songs like Wolves, which didn't need to be nine minutes long. Unto the Locust is a very breezy listen for me, and it never feels like its dragging, even at it's average song length of 6-7 minutes, so it's probably the easiest to get dug into.

I agree, not as great as Blackening but the first half of it was good, kinda falls flat for me after that though....

I prefer this to the blackening, simply because it flows more and it's not just a jumble of riffs at times.
The songs are more manageable too, not just made long for the sake of length

Blackening was too long....i feel the material was better than this though

Bought this last year. Still listening to it and think it really good. Some bits could be better (choir maybe not required) but overall there is plenty to like.

Definitely, they put on a show, although Robb's live voice is getting weaker I've noticed

Flynn's vox piss me off so much, should focus more on songwriting rather than trying to sound like Phil Anselmo Jr.
