I don't get the review, this isn't pure folk music it's folk-rock. Dylan started out more folk but then he did folk-rock as well. And honestly I don't have images of them as outcasts in a woodland cabin (that kind of music would be far rougher and roots music), not that I care about that anyway as I can quite like some refined songwriting.

Amazing review, makes me want to reconsider this album. I loved the first Fleet Foxes album in all its nostalgia and high quality ensembles, but HB hasn't stuck to me yet. I gave the album 4-5 tries, and I was impressed. However, it didn't seduce me to repeatedly listening to it. Maybe a few more tries...

The title track is really just so good. Is it not just so good? Somehow, I sense it surfacing in the trailer for some indie movie sometime soon, and every five or so YouTube comments being someone who speaks English as a second language saying "What music this trailr?"

On my road trip, a kid had The Shrine/An Argument burned onto a mix cd. We started debating whether the ending sounded like a weird clown being strangled by a balloon, or a brass elephant being tortured by a hot poker.

I hate when a band I like releases a record I don't like. =(
There's nothing worse than it.
