As someone who never listened to this band before, I found this album highly enjoyable.

voltimand, if you 5'd entroducing you should check out perdition city by this band. some solid trip hop elements on some of the tracks, especially the first two

move on to shadows next, and then blood inside. i think i would say those three are the most comparable

I don't rate Blood Inside that highly. Still dig it more than any of their black metal-era stuff but it's far from one of my favourites.

Blood Inside doesn't get enough credit around here. Then again I'm sure that's how you guys all feel about this hahaha.

Tyler.

"do you at least love blinded by blood and christmas?"

Yes I do, those are my favourites on the album. I also don't think it's a coincidence that the album's two slower and more atmospheric tracks (respectively) are my favourites.

And don't get me wrong, I like the whole album, it's just a big step down from PC and I think they've topped it with every album since.

@enedwaith - thanks man, will do. From what I understand this band is highly experimental?

Metal when you want it, electronic when you don't.

experimental for sure. neo-folk, raw black metal, atmospheric black metal, electronic, trip-hop, ambient, dark ambient (if you've seen the horror film sinister, you've listened to their dark ambient), 60s psychadelic rock, orchestral ambient, what am i missing

Underrated as fuck.

February MMX is up there with Ulver's best.

childhoods end is also super awesome and doesn't get much attention probably

but yeah this album is super underrated, not just as an obscure experimental album but as a serious rock release it's fucking righteous I might 4.5 it infact
