Actually like the album. Welcome, Dear Insanity, To The Stage and Morte Et Dabo rip. Others are listenable but nothing noteworthy otherwise.

Scoring a top 10 debut on the U.S charts, English metalcore outfit Asking Alexandria take a step up on 'Reckless and Relentless'. Dialing down their hyperactive aggression, the quintet focus on catchy melodic hooks here, with less reliance on both breakdowns & synth-heavy trance components. It's still not a groundbreaking sound & is far from flawless, but the vocals, guitar-work & songwriting have all matured since predecessor 'Stand Up and Scream'. Even the occasional symphonic element is value-adding, resulting in a semblance of potential for these much derided Brits. Recommended Tracks: Someone Somewhere, To The Stage & Reckless and Relentless.

Is this any different from Stand Up Scream? Because that album was so damn generic.

This is still generic, just catchier & with less reliance on both breakdowns & synth-heavy trance components.
|
| |
less breakdowns and faggy dance parts you say? That's good, I'm glad they're moving away from that Attack! Attack! sound.

Why does this say #12 for 2011?
|
| |
because people really like Asking Alexandria?
