waves crash&clouds roll + brothers = my favorite from each section...but white knuckles or warm blood rush could replace waves crash...

@Wizard
I think that if you want to start somewhere with Defeater, their EP Lost Ground is what will do you best.

i think lost ground is to monotonous...Travels sees them change up the styles and instrumentation more often...I think thats a better first listen..idk

So many parts of this album are ruined by half-assed, boring lyrics (i.e. the end of dear father). I think they just wrote them too fast. Kind of a shame, consider how good the lyrics are in the older albums.

This is my only complaint, everything else about the album is awesome

First defeater album I ever heard, had no preconceptions, still gave it a 5. So fuck the haters, IMO.

Been listening to this every day for over a week now. I love the acoustic songs too. This might become a 5 over time.

Finally listened to this. Pretty great stuff. I was most impressed with the intensity of White Oak Doors with the drums resembling the oncoming train. The acoustic tracks are a little overdone though. They could've just stuck with one.

Best songs for me, in order:

1. Cemetary Walls - Somehow totally gut-wrenching, but has an uplifting feeling as well.

2. At Peace - "YOU'VE GOT TO FIND HER!" Fucks me up, every time.

3. Warm Blood Rush - Just an epic opener, tying it directly into the story immediately. Love it.
