because an album is meant to be a complete piece, listened to and analyzed together. if there's shitty filler in there the score is going to drop. I mean I love the song "The Canyon Behind Her" by Dredg but the surrounding album is horrible. That doesn't mean I get to give it a 4.5 based on that one song, you're rating the album. And I believe the length was only a very small factor of the score I gave this album.
