the thing about people's reception with pop music, is that most people judge it based on how it compares with music that it could never possibly be. hating on ke$ha because her lyrics are not "intelligent" enough is stupid...she's not trying to be intelligent, she's not trying to be morrissey, and she's not trying to create music for any other reason than to have fun.



sure it's great when songwriters are super-philosophical and cynical and bring reality to the surface, but there needs to exist music to escape reality to as well.
