It really isn’t
Limp Bizkit are Limp Bizkit for middle aged people in 2023
|
| |
Oh, for sure. I just think there’s something horrifying and interesting about a second Limp Bizkit
|
| |
if a middle aged person listens to limp bizkit in 2023 they are still a teenager this is just basic science
|
| |
Nu Metal reinvented biology. I love it

Sadly I still know a lot of people stuck in 1999 who still mostly listen to Beastie Boys, Deftones, Limp Bizkit and Tool.
Major reason I’m here.
|
| |
Beastie Boys are the bollocks though.
Ill Communication still gets a regular listen.

Beasties are good, thought they were a terrible headline act when I caught them at Reading is the one major black mark..
They’re my mates but the gigs I’ve gone to with them recently sort of paint the picture:
Prodigy, Amyl and the Sniffers, Turnstile, Skindred, Wildhearts, Pearl Jam and erm, The Offspring (unplugged)
Can’t get much more rockist than that, indie stuff I have to drag the wife to
|
| |
“ The Offspring (unplugged)”
Unplugged? That’s really unexpected

It…worked half the time.
They played my home town so everyone went :D
Next band I watched there were Black Midi…couldn’t get two more different gigs

I’m back to these.
The Something Rain is underrated as fuck. Amazing stuff.

I dig The Something Rain a lot, “Frozen” is hypnotic. Curtains is my breakup record tho.

Good ratings Gyro, I'd go:
1. Always a Stranger [5]
2. Don't Walk, Run [5]
3. Falling, the light [4.5]
4. Soon to Be April [4.5]
5. A New World [4.5]
6. Nancy [4]
7. Turned My Back [4]
8. Secret of Breathing [4] bit generous but hey
It's their best album since Waiting for the Moon (that one has three classic Sticks songs: Until the Morning Comes, Sweet Memory, My Oblivion, and is generally excellent/underrated) - this is mainly due to consistency, all their albums since that one have had a lot to commend them....it's just they always have these experiments/curveballs that are hit and miss and certainly break up the flow ('Chocolate' on Something Rain the most glaring example, as fun as that song is for one listen!). 'Tissue' is only a whisker better than Waiting Room/Something Rain/No Treasure in particular.

My fave is Nancy.
Very Simple Pleasure.
